Muhammad, Ahmad, and Al-Hassan, the sons of Musa ibn Shakir, were renowned Persian scientists who flourished in the Arab Caliphate during the 9th and 10th centuries. Their exceptional contributions spanned the fields of geometry, astronomy, and mechanics.

Guardians of Greek Knowledge

The brothers were diligent collectors of Greek manuscripts and established an observatory at the "House of Wisdom" in Baghdad, where they conducted astronomical observations between 850 and 870 AD. Their work was highly regarded by scholars. The renowned astronomer Al-Biruni praised their astronomical tables as superior to others, noting that "they spared no effort in seeking the truth and stood alone in their time in their Banu Musa - McGill University.
