Early Life and Education

Shilpa Shetty was born on June 8, 1975, in Tamil Nadu, India, to former models Surendra and Sunanda Shetty. She has a younger sister, Shamita Shetty, who is also an actress. Shilpa grew up in Mumbai, where she attended Chembur High School and later Podar College in Matunga. An accomplished athlete, she was the captain of her school's volleyball team and earned a black belt in karate.
